SACRED SUPPORT
for grieving death

A spiritual, somatic healing container for women
and men preparing for the death of a loved one and moving
forward without them. Whether you are in the before phase,
or the after phase, you are welcome here.

COMING THIS SPRING

WHY CHOOSE ANYTHING BUT LOVE?

WHAT IF LOVE IS THE ONLY THING WE GET TO TAKE WITH US?

Hi Love, I know you're here because you are going through it.
You are probably experiencing a lot of anxiety as you watch your loved one navigate the dying process,
or your loved one has recently transitioned and you're wondering about
healthy ways to connect with others and find your way into your new normal...

THIS IS AN INVITATION
FROM MY HEART TO YOURS TO

The truth is, you carry grief with you either way,

but each road leads to dramatically different places. One path leads you down a very dark, agonizing road where hope, faith, and empowerment don’t exist. The other path is a full-on spiritual experience where you allow your grief to change you into the person you want to be.

GRIEF HAS THE ACCELERATING POWER TO SPRINGBOARD YOU INTO WAKING UP TO MEANING, INTERCONNECTEDNESS, AND WISDOM THAT NO AMOUNT OF BOOKS OR TEACHERS COULD POSSIBLY GIVE TO YOU...

if you let it.

As you face the finality of death, cultivating your Calm Heart guides you closer to loving, now.

BECOME PART OF OUR PRIVATE SUPPORT GROUP
at any time and be warmly welcomed into a community where you can learn, practice,
and be held with others who get it.

This is everything I wish I had when I was preparing for my father's death and navigating the fog after he was gone. An hour-long grief counselor once a week wasn't enough. I craved comforting, professional support in between counseling sessions during the overwhelming moments of grief.

And I longed for a community where we could be in spiritual practice and conversations, TOGETHER...

Imagine being guided each week in forming your own understanding of what happens after death so you can shift the way you relate to it and enjoy your life to the fullest

What to Expect...

Calm Heart supports you to reach the other side of grief.

You are no longer going through this alone, and that makes all the difference. Others can be right alongside you on this journey, holding you as you learn from one another.

The support you receive is multi-layered:

My four years of graduate-level education in Psychosomatic healing and Leadership studies are valuable resources for you to practice creative, life-changing techniques for nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and empowering self-leadership.

In harmony with academic education are my twelve years of Buddhist study that offer unique perspectives and embodied practices that have been used for thousands of years to understand the nature of death, dying, and what happens next. However, Calm Heart is non-denominational and approaches healing through a modern mysticism lens (like my other offerings). Read more here about my story.

We explore together the vast relationships to death in many traditions and allow that to inform what resonates with you. Ritualizing your grief by drawing on already existing ones as well as the ones you create is part of your weekly invitation.

By engaging in conversations, rituals, meditation, and somatic movement, you can shape a belief system that makes sense to YOU, acting as a North Star through this dark night of the soul.

If you are in the preparation phase...

In addition to being guided through spiritual, somatic practices, you will create rituals that prepare you for the inevitable moment of your loved one taking their last breath. This is the essence of learning how to cultivate a “calm heart,” not just for yourself but for everyone around you as well as your transitioning loved one.

Yes, there are deeply spiritual and practical ways to prepare, and I'd love to show you how.

And whether you will be joining Calm Heart before or after their transition, you will be held in nourishing love and tenderness by all of us. I will help you find the bridge between the spirit world and this world as you slowly release your loved one and transform your grief into meaning, purpose, and creative expression.

Through this tremendously difficult circumstance, you will connect to the meaning of life and embody someone that honors your transitioned loved one.

Each week on our calls, I will provide guided visualization practices and gentle somatic movement to lower your stress and help you process this transitional time. We never heal grief itself, but we heal from the shock and paralysis of the loss by creatively expressing our heartbreak as we build a new reality to feel joy in again.

Grieving is a creative process, and we explore the depths of that together so you can learn how to channel and repurpose your grief into LOVE.

YOUR SUPPORT INCLUDES:

"It has been life changing and so valuable to set this intentional time for being in community, and being in my body, allowing my body to speak, and really listening to what it has to say. Kate guided us with such a profound and deep knowing and wisdom that comes from her own experiences, and it set the tone for the vulnerability we were invited to experience and witness in one another.

Lorna

"Working with Kate has changed my life forever and helped me to cultivate a whole new relationship with my body and moving with deep emotion and sensation. Although challenging in so many ways, Kate’s loving guidance is everything I need to feel supported in my healing journey. She welcomes my full power and energy. She embraces all the hurt and painful emotions that arise. She invites a new perspective that always illuminates something. And most importantly, I can trust her with anything and everything that shows up. Creative, artful, expressive, masterful! I have become a more confident and loving person. I have cultivated more inner peace and trust.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

✧ Why do you approach grieving through the body?

Our body has evolved to keep us safe by creating a stress response when we hurt. We can FEEL this sensation in the body through aches, sharp pains, or even numbness. When we are grieving, our cortisol (stress hormone) is very high and is consistently released over time as we grieve. This leads to other health complications when left unaddressed, not to mention it's uncomfortable to hurt! By giving that "stuck" emotional energy a place to go through movement, we are helping the body feel safe, which will normalize our stress hormones. Grief and loss don't make sense in the mind, so we support the non-verbal body to express itself as we process our heartbreak.

✧ Do I need previous dance experience to attend your classes?

Not at all! This is about movement, not dancing. The movement I use is repetitive, intuitive, and not choreographed, as well as gentle or fierce, depending on what the moment calls for. It is always intended to help you feel good as you build trust and safety within yourself.

✧ What if this is out of my budget, but I really need grief support?

My partner and I have a program launching in the Spring of 2024 that is a very affordable subscription to recorded content filled with mindfulness and somatic practices and educational talks. We are so excited to offer Grief Relief! Join my newsletter and follow my social media to stay up to date.
